CERVINIA (Breuil) - Information

Resort Information CERVINIA (Breuil)

At over 2,000m, Cervinia is one of the highest resorts in Italy and one of the most snow-sure in the Italian Alps. Surrounded by rugged mountain peaks, including the majestic Matterhorn, the town enjoys a fabulous setting and a great holiday atmosphere - skiing and shopping by day and partying by night. The compact centre of the town is packed with clothes and souvenir shops along with bars, pizzerias and restaurants. Visitors come mainly to Cervinia for the excellent snow conditions and long hours of sunshine. The resort is also popular, as with an area ski pass you can also enjoy the slopes of Zermatt over the border in Switzerland. Whilst most people will stay in Cervinia for the week, a long weekend break is possible too.Beginners will enjoy the lovely nursery slopes just next to the village centre, but should quickly progress to the nice wide runs of Plan Maison. For Intermediates there is much of interest, with plenty of long and wide open pistes, including the 8km long Ventina run down from Plateau Rosa. More advanced skiers will also find Plateau Rosa as the starting point for a long run, the tremendous 22km long descent down to Valtournenche. Advanced skiers also have some tough terrain on offer in resort to challenge them, including the long black Torrette and some knee-jangling mogul fields. There is also the opportunity of skiing, on an International Lift Ticket, over to Zermatt in Switzerland. Wherever you are on the slopes there are plenty of places to stop, dine if you wish and enjoy the spectacular views.
