LES GETS - Information

Resort Information LES GETS

Les Gets Ski Resort is one of the dozen towns and villages that form the Portes du Soleil, a giant linked ski area that straddles the French border with Switzerland below Lac Léman, and is only 95Km from Geneva airport. Les Gets accommodation is a pleasing mix of old Savoyard chalets and more modern wooden-and-stone buildings, constructed in keeping with their beautiful alpine surroundings. Ski holidays in Les Gets offer an excellent location for families and are particularly good for beginers and intermediates, yet still offering challenging runs for stronger skiers including easy access to Avoriaz and ''The Wall''. Overall, Les Gets is an attractive spot with good local skiing, whilst still offering the rest of the Portes du Soleil within easy reach. Les Gets Ski Resort is divided into two main sectors; the popular Chavannes Bowl and the quieter Mont-Cheri. The Chavannes Bowl is the big draw for most skiers and is filled with blues, reds and some blacks. For a quieter and a possibly more challenging day, across town is the Mont Cheri bubble and it lifts you above the south facing slopes, sometimes skiable, onto Mont Cheri itself. The southern slopes are wide open red and blues, where the ski club often races and trains and also has a decent snowpark.
