SAUZE D'OULX - Information

Resort Information SAUZE D'OULX

Renowned with British skiers, not least for the heady party days of the 1980s, Sauze d’Oulx is very much a resort for people who enjoy life both on and off the slopes. This sunny resort in the Valle di Susa affords some spectacular views of Italy and over towards France. The village is essentially purpose built and with the impending Olympic Games the resort is being improved and developed. Sauze d’Oulx is one of the five resorts that make up the Milky Way ski area, so in addition to the facilities in resort there is also plenty of skiing to be had. With Turin not to far away, a weekend break is practical, but to enjoy the area to its full it is worth spending a week here. The Milky Way is one of the World’s great ski areas and therefore has something for everyone. Beginners will relish the large nursery area close to the town centre and will probably find themselves improving their turns on the wide open plateau at Sportinia. Fast learners could be enjoying the Milky Way before the week is out. Sauze’s Mont Triplex and Rocce Nere play host to a vast array of red runs and in almost every other corner of the Milky Way there is something to challenge intermediates. More advanced skiers will find a few local challenges, with more on the Milky Way, there are also a number of off-piste routes (Guide needed) to test your mettle.
