Whistler - Information

Resort Information Whistler

Whistler is North America’s largest resort and boasts exceptional snow conditions from mid-November through to May due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. It is a world class resort and a favourite with all standards of skiers and snowboarders.. Whistler Kids is great for the children, offering ski and; snowboard camps daily for tuition. For adults the Ski / Ride Esprit programmes are extremely popular and run for 3 or 4 days. There are excellent nursery slopes at Whistler and at the base in Blackcomb. For intermediates, both mountains are suitable, and advanced skiers will enjoy the challenges that both mountains provide. Whistler is now only 2 hours from Vancouver Airport since the road improvements for the 2010 Olympics.Over 200 marked trails in a vast ski area spread over two mountains and including 23 massive alpine bowls and 3 glaciers. Both mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, are unique in North America offering a vertical mile of skiing. There are five separate bases, all within five minutes of each other and are all equipped with high-speed lifts to take you up to both Whistler and Blackcomb, which virtually eliminates queues. Snow reliability is excellent – even if there is rain at the lower altitudes, up at the top, there are just heaps of powder. There is also summer glacier skiing until August.
